This department attends to the following matters -

• General legal opinions to Local Municipalities and District Municipalities;
• Forensic and Legal Audits of Municipalities;
• The planning and development of business plans;
• Litigation in the High Court and Magistrate’s Court;
• The handling of labour matters and disciplinary enquiries for Municipalities;
• Restructuring of Municipal services for Municipalities in terms of the provisions of the Systems Act;
