Our background

Johan de Jager, the current Chairman established the partnership, being the predecessor to the company in 1973. The partnership was incorporated as a company in 1994. Lillian Baqwa joined the firm in March 2004 as an associate and formally became a director in August 2004 when the firm changed its name to De Jager Baqwa Maritz Inc.

From 1 April 2006, Saville & Steinhobel Inc, another leading firm of attorneys in Newcastle amalgamated with De Jager Baqwa Maritz Inc. The amalgamated company carried on to trade as De Jager Baqwa Maritz Inc and is the largest firm of attorneys in Newcastle.

All the attorneys and staff of the firm are situated at Newcastle.
